“Chewie…We’re home.”

Crowds worldwide applauded when the big screen lit up with Han Solo uttering these words on Dec. 18, 2015. Star Wars fans do feel like they are ‘home’ again with the newest Episode VII,”The Force Awakens.”

When Disney announced its plan to start filming, “The Force Awakens”, many fans of the movies shook their heads in disapproval. For sure Disney would ruin the great legacy of George Lucas. When episodes I, II, and III were released, they were not met with great success . However, “The Force Awakens”, blows the prequels out of the water and it is common opinion that it’s the best Star Wars movie since, “The Empire Strikes Back”. As a Star Wars fan for nine years, I have to agree.

J.J Abrams directed, “The Force Awakens” and did a fantastic job. He recreated the feeling of the original Star Wars movies. The film contains no blood and gore, Stormtroopers and other bad guys are killed off in the typical Star Wars fashion. No huge romances, and a grand total of three curse words in the movie. A masked sith lord, silly companion droid, and the Millennium Falcon are all aspects of the movie that will make audiences feel like they are experiencing premier night in 1980.

If you are still debating if this movie is worth seeing, cast away all doubt right now and go buy your ticket. According to Box Office Mojo, it generated an estimated $120.5 million – breaking the record of the largest amount ever brought in on a Friday, opening day, and single day. With an amazing cast made up of new actors such as Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, and Adam Driver and classic ones like Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, and Mark Hamill, the movie offers something for everyone. Fans worldwide are truly home.
